Book one. Manchester
My interest is in the build up of layers within the city of Manchester. The ways in which the city has been used and stories that have been played out within it. The walls and buildings of Manchester show the history of the place and marks left by the people who live within it.
The new city being built within Manchester is made of glass which will never show the imprints of human physical experience.
Over the past few years Manchester has been growing and at the same time been taken apart. i have used the city and surrounding areas as the basis of my work to find the form, colour and associations that exist within the details that make up the area.
Though in some instances the images border on the abstract the elements they are made up of are without doubt representative of the city in which I live.
